Challenge 10 - Scrabble

Seasons Greetings to everyone! Hope your holidays havent been too hectic so far and you now have some time to scrap! :)

Today we launch round 5 of our scrap whispers challenge. The initial layout to scraplift has been sent to all of the DT leaders today and they have should all been in contact with you to explain how to play and what your teams schedule for lifting looks like. If you have any questions please feel free to ask your DT leader.

In the meantime here is this weeks individual challenge:

Over the Christmas period I am sure you have all played many board games including one of the most popular - Scrabble. So taking inspiration from the game of scrabble create your layout - you could use actual scrabble blocks, create your own or just use the layout of the tiles on the board - we will leave it to you!!

Here is what our DT came up with:

Telah

Sarah

Nilsa
Nancy
Georgina
Karry

Link us to your layouts on this thread or on the scrapwhispers message board thread by midnight on Saturday to be entered into the fortnightly RAK draw! You can enter as many times as you want.

Scrap Whispers - Round 5

Its that time again! The doors are now open!!

Want to play in the next round of Scrap Whispers? Now is your chance. Sign up by 24th December to join in - we kick off for the 5th round on 28th December.

Remember that game you used to play as a kid? Where you secretly whisper a phrase to the next person sat in a circle, who then whispers it to the next person and so on? The last person announces the phrase out loud and this usually results in a completely different phrase than the one you started off with?!

Well, thats basically how scrap whispers works too. Only with scrapbook layouts instead of a phrase! Scrap Whispers in its current form has been around for 2 years now and we're now on our 5th round! Due to its increasing popularity we outgrew our old space on the web, hence this new challenge blog was born.

I hope it will become a more permanent residence for us going forward.

How Does it work? Firstly you sign up by sending an email to: Gh26@sky.com with your full name and email address. Each game will last for 2 months, after which we will open sign ups again.

You then get allocated to a team of other participants. In your team, you will have a team leader who will be a member of our design team. Each main whispers challenge runs for 2 months in total and will be co-ordinated by your team leader. It will involve you scraplifting one layout that is passed to you.

I pass a layout to your team leader who will scraplift it, then pass their layout to another member of your team. That person will scraplift your team leaders layout and pass it onto someone else in the team and so on. At the end of the 2 months, team leaders will reveal all their team layouts in one go and you will be able to see the progression as the "whisper" got passed on!

Its fascinating to see how the layouts change. The winning team each wins a RAK.

In addition, each week there will be a new challenge posted on the blog. These will not be team challenges, but individual challenges and you do not have to be signed up to play - they are open to everyone. Every 2 weeks there will be a random prize drawing for those who did participate.

Its great fun to play and its interesting to see the whispers challenge layouts and how they each differ from the next. Plus, you get to make some new friends in your teams!
