Challenge 14 - Musical Inspiration

How many times have you found yourself with scrappers block when it comes to creating a title for your layout? Personally I think it is the most difficult thing to do. I recently discovered however, a library of titles sitting right there in front of me..... in my music collection!!

Your challenge this week therefore is to check out your I-pod or CD shelf and really take time to look at the names of the songs, the name of the albums and the artists. Choose one of these song names to create a title for a layout !

Here is what the DT came up with this week, I wonder if it is telling on their musical tastes?! :)

Georgina used Bryan Ferry's "Windswept" as her inspiration

Nilsa took inspiration from Jennifer Lopez - " This is Me"

Sarah created a layout using a song called "Waste" from her favourite band - Phish

Telah used an all time classic song by the Temptations - "My Girl"

Nancy created her layout using "On & On" by Jack Johnson

and Crystal used a pretty song called "Feels Like Home" by Chantal Kreviazvk

Karry used Headstrong by Ashley Tisdale for this layout of her daughter:

We look forward to seeing what you do with this challenge! Link us to your layouts by midnight on Saturday for a chance of winning a Making Memories Paint Kit (6 bottles, 3 brushes and a paint tray).

Challenge 13 - Show Us Your Handwriting

January 23rd is National Handwriting Day (apparently because this was John Hancock's birthday). So for this week's challenge, we want you to show us your handwriting on your layouts! Maybe you have a certain picture that you have a lot to say about or something important to you that needs to be journaled. We just want to see your handwriting on this layout.

Link us to your layouts in this post or on the message board by midnight on Saturday to be entered into the drawing for a Basic Grey Bittersweet collection pack.

Here is what our DT came up with:

Telah wanted to journal to her girls about the special bond between sisters.

Nancy wrote about how her son is such a great help to her in the kitchen.

Sarah spoke to her son in her layout about how even though he may drive her crazy at times, she still loves him.

Nilsa wanted to share how holidays have changed since their move to another state.

Karry decided to use her pen to doodle words and other drawings to describe her daughter.

Georgina documented her journey with this little pear tree.

Crystal speaks about how she wants to make the most of every day moments.

So get out your favorite writing pen and get to it! We can't wait to see what you share with us.

Challenge 12 - The Brady Bunch

Who remembers watching the Brady Bunch on TV? I used to rush home from school so I didnt miss an episode! For a touch of nostalgia, this weeks challenge is to use the wholesome Brady Bunch as inspiration for your layouts.

Link us to your layouts in this post or on the messageboard by midnight on Saturday to be entered into the drawing in 2 weeks time for a Basic Grey Bittersweet collection pack.

Heres what our DT came up with:

Telah mimicked the grid in the introduction at the beginning of the show. She also used a Brady Bunch font which she downloaded from the internet.

Nancy took a similar approach to the challenge using the opening sequence as her inspiration.

Sarah took the theme of family forward to create her layout & continued with the "square" theme for the majority of her photos.

Nilsa used "Bunch" as the main part of her title and also used a photo of a lot of girls in her family

Georgina used the grid layout of the photos of Mrs Brady and her girls in the opening credits and her theme of the layout was about her "wholesome" angel like friends!
Crystal used the opening song lyrics for her inspiration for her title
So there we have it - we cant wait to see what you do with this challenge. Have fun!

Challenge 10 and 11 - The RAK winner

Everyone who entered challenge 10 or 11 had their names put into a hat (well it was actually a bowl but you get the idea). I randomly picked one name and that was...........

Kimberly

Congratulations Kimberly - please email me at gh26@sky.com with your address so I can get your prize sent out to you (a crate paper Mia collection pack as pictured)

We've seen lots of discussion on the messageboard about the scrapping goals you have for 2009, maybe you want to get these written down on paper now! Totally up to you, we just want to see your New Years Resolution Layouts.

Heres our inspiration:
