Challenge 21 - Mothers

Great job with challenge 20 everyone! Some amazing layouts! All your names have been entered into our prize draw and we will pick a winner after the next challenge is complete.

Talking of which.... challenge 21 .... Today in England it is Mothers Day. Your challenge therefore is to create a layout with a " Mother" theme. Perhaps you want to express your feelings on what it is like to be a Mum/Mom. What do your kids think about their Mum/Mom. What about your own relationship with your Mother. Here is some inspiration from our DT to get your creative juices flowing!

Georgina and her Mum today! Telah and her Mom
Sarah interviewed her kids!
Nancy interviewed her son
and Karry included herself in this photo with her girls
Crystal journalled about how she loves being a Mom

Link us to your layouts by midnight on Saturday to be entered into the draw. Link us on this blog post or upload your creations to our gallery (dont forget to tag them with the #21)
In addition to the fun of a new challenge - I can also confirm that the Team Scrap Whisper Layout has been passed to your DT leaders and they will shortly be in contact with a schedule to scraplift it!

The Winning Team Is........

TEAM THREE!!

Congrats go to Karry, Keely, Beth, Sherri, Nora M, Terry, Nora and Leah.

I was very impressed with how much your layout progressed but still remained remarkably similar towards the end. Great job everyone! I hope you had fun.

You have each won one of these cute stamps as pictured above from Sugar Nellie. It measures approx 7x8 cm and comes mounted on grey rubber. All you need to do is stick it to your acrylic block and stamp away!

THE BIG REVEAL - Team 6

Last but not least we have team 6's layouts -

They started with this layout:
The layout was passed to Crystal to scraplift. Crystal took the basic layout and flipped the design, she replaced the strips of paper with photos instead, kept the scalloped element and the buttons and added her journalling to a piece of bracket notepaper.

Crystals layout was passed across to Leslie. Leslie flipped the sketch again and reduced the photos to just 1. She tilted the title, but kept the scalloped border and added flowers instead of buttons. She retained the ribbon across the bottom of the page.

Leslies layout was then passed onto Jan. Jan switched the title again and added another photo. She used some big embellishments with the photocorners and flowers and moved her journalling to the bottom of the layout.

Jan's layout was passed across to Calia to lift. Calia kept 2 photos, added some big embellishements herself including a paperclip and arrow. She moved the title around again but still kept the ribbon element of the layout.

Calia's layout was then passed to Karen to scraplift. Karen mexed the photos to 4 photos. She put the title at the top of the page again and decorated delicately with brads.

Then the layout was passed to Illyse to scraplift - the last person on the team. Illyse moved the photos around again and stuck with two of them. She cut around one of the photos for a college effect and used rick rack to frame the bottom.

And there, we have team 6's layouts.
Lets look at the first and last layout together.
Strangely enough, you can still see similarities in these layouts. There is 3 strips of paper, the photos are on opposite sides but the rick rack along the bottom of the layout represents the scalloped edge.

THE BIG REVEAL - Team 5

We're almost there! Team 5 started with this layout of mine:
It was passed to Nancy to scraplift. Nancy kept a lot of the layout the same. She even included two people in her photo. She used fabric buttons as well as some tickets for embellishments and changed the border from scallops.

Nancy's layout was passed to Tricia to scraplift. Tricia also kept the layout similar but returned to the scalloped border. She reduced the number of embellishments on the page and secured her ribbons with brads.

Tricias layout was passed to Deb to scraplift. Deb moved her photo to the other side of her layout but kept everything else pretty similar, including the ribbon, scalloped border and brads.

Deb's layout was passed to Liz who chose to keep the photo on the right hand side. She reduced the number of embellishments and made her scalloped border more fancy. The ribbon remained and she framed her title.

Liz's layout got passed along to Lisa. Lisa kept the placement of the photo once more but changed the scallops into rick rack instead of ribbon, she added a few threaded buttons for decoration.

Liz's layout was then passed across to Lydia who was the last member of the team. Lydia moved the ribbon up a little to cross her photo and embellished with one big flower.

And there we have team 5's layouts. Lets look at the last and first layouts together:

They are remarkably similar still - the photo placement and title have swapped to opposite sides, like a mirror image but the wavy border and ribbon still remain.

THE BIG REVEAL - Team 4

Team fours turn!
They started with this layout which got passed to Nilsa to scraplift.
Nilsa retained the layout doodling around the edges, including the strips of paper but added flowers behind some of her buttons.

Nilsa's layout got passed to Siri to scraplift. She also kept the strips of paper, the layout of the title and photo and included the scalloped border but she added some flowers on the bottom left corner.
Siri's layout got passed to Marguerite to scraplift. Marguerite switched the photo to landscape, moved the title to the top of the layout. She kept the ribbon across the bottom and added a few buttons to embellish.

Marguerites layout then got passed to April. April chose to copy Marguerites layout but added some texture with the flowers and made her sub title bolder.

April's layout was passed to Charissa to scraplift. She really mixed things up by adding some more photos to the layout and splitting her title into word strips. She kept the strip of ribbon and added some buttons and flowers. She also added a large photo corner embellished with ribbon.

Charissa's layout then got passed to Janie to scraplift. Janie kept the three photos but moved her title to the opposite side of the page. She continued the theme of photo corners adding one to each corner but retained the ribbon / rick rack on the bottom of the layout with buttons.

Janie passed her layout to Heather - the last person in the team to scraplift. Heather flipped the layout 90 degrees, kept the rick rack, placed the title at the top of the page and reduced the number of photos to one again.

And there we have team fours layouts!
Lets look at the first and last layout together:

They are very different but still retain some of the same characteristics! The doodling has been replaced by rick rack, the buttons by flowers and the title has moved. There is still one photo and there is one strip of paper instead of 3.

THE BIG REVEAL - Team 3

Here we go with team 3's layouts!!

They started with this layout again!
The layout was passed to Karry to scraplift. She kept the layout very similar - she doodled around the edge of the page, included the buttons scattered over and made the scallops on the bottom larger.
Karry's layout was passed to Keeley to scraplift. Keeley took one of the strips of paper away from the right hand side of the layouts, she kept the doodling around the outside, replaced ribbon with lace and added some pretty flowers.

Keely's layout was passed to Beth to scraplift. Beth kept the square photo and flowers and criss crossed the ribbon and lace, tucking in a ticket.

Beth's layout was passed across to Sherri to scraplift. She made her photo long and thin but kept the crossed ribbon and and embellishments in the same place.

Sherri's layout was then passed to Nora M to scraplift. Nora chose to scrap a different sized layout. She kept the photo placement, increased the number of flowers and made the ribbon much smaller.

Nora's layout was passed to Terry to scraplift. Terry moved her photo up, along with the flowers. She kept the title on the right hand side and journalled in blocks.

Terry's layout was then passed to a different Nora! Nora really spiced things up using three photos instead of one but keeping them in the top left of her page. She placed her title above the photos too and moved her journalling blocks below the photo. The buttons made a reappearance.
Noras layout was passed to Leah who was the last person to scraplift. She flipped Nora's layout and moved her photos to the opposite side of the page. She kept the buttons, added some ribbon and handwrote her journalling.

And that is team 3's layouts!!
Looking at the first and last layouts next to each other you can see how things progressed.

Looking closely, the general link is there. The three columns, the ribbon on the bottom, the buttons, thickers lettering to make the title and a scalloped edge.
