In the Spotlight - Mindy Miller

Every wednesday for a month we are shining a spotlight onto some designers that we think are brilliant and perhaps undiscovered! The Design team are scraplifting these designers and displaying their work on their own blogs. As a result we are holding a blog hop each week with a few prizes along the way!

Well its week 3 now and this week we are shining our spotlight on a sweet designer called Mindy Miller.

Mindy is originally a small town girl from north central Kansas who now lives in Topeka, KS.

"I graduated in 1999 from Washburn University and subsequently attended Washburn School of Law. I became a licensed attorney in 2002 and dabbled in politics and government, but ultimately found a niche in the insurance industry as in-house counsel and later as a compliance officer. In May 2009, I took a gigantic leap of faith and left my job of over seven years to seek new professional opportunities. So, in the meantime, I’ve been doing a lot of scrapbooking!"

Mindy as been a devoted scrapbooker since 1997. While in college, she took numerous graphic design courses, which she believes has influenced her scrapbooking style.

"I approach a scrapbook page using the rule of thirds and describe the result as graphic and simple, with a focus on typography and clean lines."
As you can see from Mindy's layout she has a love of kraft paper and Thickers!
"My greatest desire is to travel the world and then scrapbook my adventures"

Check out Mindy's latest layout - Scrapwhispers challenge #38

In the Spotlight - Blop Hop!

Hi there and welcome to another fabulous Scrap Whispers "In the spotllight Blog Hop". This week we would like you to meet a very talented scrapper -

Nadrah Maidin
Nadrah is an awesome scrapbooker from Malaysia and she has an amazing eye for colour and embelishments.

Check out her layout for our latest Scrap Whispers Challenge (challenge 37 Home Visit) and how she has created an eye catching piece of work.

Nadrah describes her life as " somewhat obsessed with scrapbooking. To me, everyday is a page waiting to be created and being immersed in paper, photos, embellishments and all things scrap related is my life and what makes me happiest…"
Nadrah has been scrapping for years now and even says it is an obession in her family. She even opened a store in her area to provide products & services to other obsessed scrappers out there.
"I’m so obsessed with scrapbooking that I always have to have the latest idea book and I'm always checking out ads for inspiration and new fonts or looking for new suppliers with great new products...or thinking of great colour schemes and designs for my next project. My family’s resigned to the fact that their daughter, wife and mother come in a package…and that scrapping is part of me….and what I will always love to do….my poor family has been endlessly photographed and used for my various layouts too..... In a nutshell, I do what I do for the love of the craft and the joy of teaching it to others!"

Nadrah has recently been accepted onto the Design Team for a new scrapbook paper line - Nikki Sivils and you really need to check out what she has been doing with this cool paper.

She has some cute little projects on her blog - you can find that here. Go and check it out and leave her some love.

When you have done that, we have a little blog hop in honour of Nadrah this week- you need to follow it all the way through the Scrapwhispers DT and then at the end we have another chance to win a prize - simply by leaving some comments as you go! :) The deadline for winning the prize is midnight next Tuesday.

In the Spotlight

We are very excited to share with you a months worth of special guest designers! Each week, every Wednesday, for the next 4 weeks we will be shining the spotlight on someone who we think has lots of talent and creates some wonderful layouts. There will be lots of prizes up for grabs and the Design Team are scraplifting some of these wonderful designers too.

This week we are showcasing the talent of Jamie Elmore.

Jamie is an avid scrapper from Alabama - "if I am not actually playing with my pretty papers and ribbon - you will find me either taking photos, reading about scrapping, or perhaps even on occasion dreaming about it. Ha!"

Jamie has been enjoying her scrapbooking hobby for 10+ years and her absolute favorite part is capturing the everyday details of our lives and telling the stories behind the photos.
She is married to her hubby Josh and they have 3 sweet babies - Caleb Davis (4), Nate (2), and Emma Lee (1). Jamie is a full time wife and mommy but you will also find her homeschooling her little ones, trying her best to stay organized, healthy, and on top of life, as well as participating in various activities at church.
"All in all, I am just a Southern gal who loves God, my family and friends, having fun, and scrapping along the way"

As you can see, Jamies layouts are adorable. There are lots more where this came from too on her gorgeous blog - go and check it out and leave her some love!

We thought we would have a special Scrap Whispers DT blog hop in Jamies honour - all of the DT scraplifted one of Jamies layouts and are showcasing it on their own blogs right now! You can check them all out starting with the awesome
