Challenge 52 - Watermelon

Hi Everyone! Hope you had a great week. The scrapwhispers team game started this week and I understand things are running smoothly! If you are playing, don't forget to check in with your DT leader in your team group in the forums!

This week in the UK and I understand elsewhere too the weather hasn't been all that great. Craving sunshine and summer we decided this week to indulge ourselves in a summery themed challenge.

We would like you to use the humble watermelon as your inspiration to create a card or a layout. You could use the one or more of the colours from the watermelon, create a layout about a watermelon or perhaps use the lyrics from the song "watermelon crawl" !! The choice is yours - simply be inspired by the watermelon! :)

This is what the DT came up with to give you some ideas this week:

Leah
Georgina
Nilsa
Rosey
Telah
Helen
Sarah
Kelly

We have added another wonderful prize to the January prize pack, which is becoming a very attractive prize as time goes on! All you have to do to be in with a chance of winning is take part in the watermelon challenge by midnight on Saturday 23rd January 2010. You can enter as many times as you want to.
Leave us a comment in this post with a link to your projects wherever else they are on the internet.
Or alternatively upload your creation to our gallery quoting "challenge 52".

Helen
Kelly
Leah
Nilsa

Telah
Georgina

So, now it is your turn. Create your purple and turquoise card or layout by midnight on Saturday 16th and link us to it (wherever it may be on the internet) by posting in the comments box on this post. Alternatively, upload your layout to our gallery.
Each layout or card you create for our challenges in January will get your name added to the January grand prize draw and you will win everything you see listed on the right of this page. You can enter each challenge as many times as you want. We are an international challenge blog so wherever in the world you are, you can play! We add new prizes everyweek.

We are easing you in slowly this week with a challenge that will be open to interpretation. We want you to simply create a layout inspired by the phrase "Stars and Spikes" - it is entirely up to you how you interpret this, maybe decorate your layout with stars, use the word spike - it is up to you. Have some fun (hopefully use some of your new christmas craft goodies) be creative and see what you come up with.

(If you enter all 4 challenges your name goes in 4 times) At the end of the month (after challenge 54 is completed) we will pull one name out of the hat and that person will win the entire prize pack for January.
Each week will be adding something new to the prize pack and this week we are starting out with a brand new doodlebug citrus 12x12 kit:
Your challenge 50 layouts have to be either linked to this post (maybe posted on your own blog on in an online gallery suck as flickr) in the comments section, or uploaded to our scrapwhisper gallery by midnight on Saturday 9th January 2010.
